I find it most rewarding to participate in projects from the early stages, working with clients to create the “framework of the city,” where the landscape takes center stage. Typically, you join a project after the architectural planning is underway. At JMA/PC&PJ, I can be deeply involved in the development of the concept from the concept development stage.

The company has a very flat hierarchy. It’s an environment where junior staff are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions. This is precisely why I can directly feel the impact of my proposals, which often become the starting point for urban development or spatial design projects. I also find the collaborative process incredibly appealing—working with members of the architecture and interior design teams to create a single space that transcends disciplinary boundaries.

I feel a sense of accomplishment and reward in projects of all scales, from large-scale master plans to small, human-sized spaces, when the landscape functions as the “centerpiece” or “hub” of a community and fosters a rich and fulfilling way of life for people.
