Featured in Nikkei XTECH Landscape Design
for Kobe Waterfront’s Shinko Pier No.2

An article featuring the landscape design of Kobe Waterfront’s Shinko Pier No.2 (TOTTEI) has been published on Nikkei XTECH.

The article introduces the design concept behind the promenade and lawn area, for which our firm was responsible for the basic design.

Spanning approximately 20 meters in width and 300 meters in length, the promenade was designed with the motif of “ocean whirlpools” to avoid creating a monotonous pedestrian experience. Along the gently curving path, small spaces with earthen paving are placed intermittently to accommodate events and food trucks, naturally guiding visitors toward the tip of the pier.

In addition, the planted areas, designed to take advantage of the elevation difference between the promenade and the adjacent arena, also function as seating. These spaces create opportunities for visitors to relax and enjoy the waterfront scenery.

We hope you enjoy reading the article.
