Maya City, located along the JR Kobe Line that connects Osaka and Kobe for a length of approximately 1 km, is an urban development project consisting of seven city blocks from A to G. This project, which began with “Maya City NADA FRONT” completed in 2013, is now finished with the completion of “Maya City STATION BLOOM”.

The concept of Block B was “a masterpiece that connects the city” as the culmination of the urban development. Taking advantage of the long shape extending east and west, the block is composed of two L-shaped buildings, mainly facing south. The design gently blends in with the surrounding cityscape by drawing the color tones of the adjacent Block C into Block B to create continuity. The light glass expression and corner sash design on the gable end of Block G across from the railway tracks were also retained in Block B, fulfilling a perfect role as a “masterpiece” that connects the city through its design. The approach from the front road to the entrance has a generous depth, creating an open and comfortable spatial composition.

Maya City project has been a collaborative effort of many parties involved, and over the past 10 years, the city has continued to pursue a better living environment. During that time, the city has undergone a major transformation with the new construction of JR Maya Station, a hospital, a child care center, and a supermarket, and the completion of the entire Maya City block has reached a significant milestone. We hope that Maya City will continue to move forward with the community.
