Mazda’s brand essence is “Celebrate Driving.” The vehicles born out of a creative perspective are supported by excellent technology and design philosophy; the vehicles born at the hands of its engineers could pass for works of art. In this project, we distilled Mazda’s ongoing philosophy of vehicle manufacture into a space to realize a unique design particular to Hiroshima Mazda’s Saijō store.
A space to create special memories that weave the souvenirs of your journey with Mazda
”LIFE JOURNEY with MAZDA”
This project aimed to go beyond the functions of a showroom. Taking the view that the time when choosing a vehicle is an “extension of driving,” it also aims to provide various locations to experience times and spaces that will become “souvenirs of the journey” decorated by a Mazda. The dynamic space that greets customers, which makes the most of the height offered by the two-layered atrium, has the motif of forms used in fluid mechanics and is designed with a sense of the rush of driving a car and the excitement when passing through a tunnel. The plaza space at the top of the symbolic spiral staircase that decorates the space gives a feeling of nature and has interspersed areas to demonstrate diverse scenes with cars and expand on customers’ diverse lifestyles. We hope that the showroom, with its Café and Living spaces for day-to-day use and the Party space and even a DJ booth for events, will allow each customer to experience the excitement of various lifestyles with their vehicle.
